Ombre Hair Trends

I wanted to air my thoughts on the whole ombre hair trend - which I thought wasn't going to last as long as it did to be honest. 

I first started seeing ombre hair on Tumblr, where there were lots and lots of photos of girls with luscious long locks transitioning into another shade. Majority of the photos included transition shades into blonde, coppers and even vibrant shades! Seeing all the vibrant shades - red in particular - I wanted to hop onto the ombre hair trend, and I suppose I tried a colour that was very daring..

Well, looking back on these photos, the colour doesn't seem as daring!

I really loved this shade I used: Dark Tulip by La Riche Directions, and this colour was super vibrant and lasted for a month or two.

Although a month or two might not seem that long - I was happy to find that my hair remained in great condition as the that hair dye I used contained no ammonia or bleach.

- If you don't know already, using these chemicals can make your hair SUPER dry and brittle - 

So my hair was only dry from the bleach I used to make the ends of my hair lighter, rather than the actual hair colour I used.

A few months down the line, I'm considering whether to dye my hair again in this ombre style, get highlights or just a plain colour! There are so many different shades to choose from - and I suppose I really like having a natural hair colour.

I really want to grow my hair out long (wow, how many months have I been saying that?!) and I will leave dying my hair for another few months until my roots grow back in the colour they naturally are!

Have you ever tried ombre hair and what are your opinions on it? I found that it was quite hard to maintain it and also the condition of my hair! Despite all of the deep conditioning products I've used.

I will be posting up my Valentines Day tomorrow :) and in the mean time I'm going to be doing my university assignments as I have created to-do lists for them. I have so much to do and I will probably pull an allnighter to get a lot of it done haha :P
