Soft Finish Makeup

If you're like me, and you loooooove wearing makeup. You will find that time to time makeup can cause you to break, and it can also look really heavy depending on what foundation to choose.

But... I've found a way around having a heavy coverage - without it actually looking like you've piled on makeup! :)

So.. what is the answer?

A Stippling Brush!

The difference between a foundation brush and a stippling brush is the density. A foundation brush is tightly packed with bristles, and it can leave your makeup looking a little streaky or packed on in certain areas.

However, a stipple brush can be used to buff foundation onto your skin, evenly layering your foundation onto your face and it will all be blended out. Giving you a matte, even and natural looking finish :)

For this I chose to use a cream concealer : Benefit - Boi-ing!

The other foundations I have here are by Fashion Fair and MAC. I think cream foundations/ concealers/ blushes work really well with a stipple brush :)

So you basically just swirl and tap the brush around in the product, bit by bit.

And then you just buff it onto your face. You can keep adding more and more foundation /concealer and build it up onto the areas you need it most :)

The final look.

You can see that despite me using quite a bit of product, it doesnt look really cakey. And my skin looks quite natural!

I've also found that using a cream concealer with a stipple brush, my face has been less oily and my skin hasn't broke out :)

Greenhead Park, Hudds.

A few weeks ago, we went to Greenhead Park :)

For those of you who don't know where it is - it's basically a 10 minute walk out of town, going past Sainsbury's (the one near train station) and it's just walking up one main road!

Some photos we took:

Crap, I don't know how to rotate photos on this :(

There are also tennis courts past the swings and slides - where we played Badminton for ages... Yes, I totally kicked his ass. Although he denies it and says he was 'going easy' on me haha :P

3 Current Fave Blogs :)

Hey everyone :)

Despite having a really hectic schedule and a ton of University assignments, I still manage to check out the blogs I follow on here :) And I've found 3 blogs that I really really love reading and I literally check these blogs every single day! (They post frequently if not everyday - perfect!)

1) ErickaJane
I first came across Ericka Jane on Instagram 1 and 1/2 years ago, and I thought she was soooo pretty! I found that she had a blog so I've been following it ever since. She mainly blogs about her life, a bit of fashion...

Oh, and she's also a singer :) Check out her cover of Jojo - Marvin's Room:

2) Jane Chuckei
I've been following Jane for a while now, but only lately I have been reading her blog much more! I was so surprised that she was a few months younger than me, as she's a model and very popular blogger, appearing in a few music videos. Wow. I've mentioned her before in my Sourcing for Longer Hair post because I looooove her hair!

3) Sophie Willocq
You may be familiar with Sophie as she is quite a popular blogger and is mentioned a lot by XiaXue, QiuQiu and Yutakis.
I recently watched her video with QiuQiu - Budget Barbie and I really liked the clothes she picked out!  I've only recently followed her blog and I really like it, she's so pretty too!!

Pros & Cons of the Xperia Mini Pro

Hey everyone :)

I blogged several months ago about my new Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini Pro, basically the unboxing of it and how it's presented etc. Read the post here!

So I wanted to make a review on it :) and just highlighting the pros and cons about the phone.

First thing's first - the phone.
It's one of the smallest phones in the market; and while some people underestimate it's power - it's a phone that gets the job done, and some more. It's a touch screen phone with two three buttons: "Back", "home" and "Options" - the main things you need anyway.

And the QWERTY keyboard slides out which makes it really really really handy! You can use the on screen keyboard if  you want, however I prefer to use the keyboard. It's useful if you're one of those who love to text, or you blog a lot or you type a lot on Facebook - that kinda thing.

It's a small phone, however it is really bulky too! So if you like your slim sort of phones (like the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy) then this design won't impress you.

It has WiFi - which is a necessity! Meaning you can have all of the communication apps which will save you from texting e.g Whatsapp.

This phone may be small... and people have actually said "Oh it's a small phone, what is it good for?" and well... DON'T underestimate this bad boy.
The camera is actually really awesome compared to a lot of other phone cameras... take a look at some of the really good shots I've taken with it:

I took the phone with me when I went on holiday to Egypt and I got some really amazing shots!

The camera focuses really well, the best time to take photographs is during the day when you have a lot of light. There is the little capture button on the side of the phone..which is a bit of a pain to use as the button is so small. However you're given the option to tap the screen to take the photo :) and that is my preferred option.

The front camera isn't so great... it's not of a great quality and I prefer using the camera on the back of the phone.

As you can see, the quality of the front camera isn't that good and I hardly take photos with it!

Some of the apps I use with the phone:

Shazam! I LOVE using this, especially when I hear something in a shop and I'm wanting to know who sings it!

Google Adsense - Yeah I'm always checking my blog moneys haha!

This is one of the screens I had a while ago, you can move different 'widgets' onto the home screen (and there are 5 home screens). So for me, I have a Google search, YouTube search, Facebook, Twitter, Notes, Google Adsense, Blogger, Web etc widgets :)

It's so handy having all of these widgets on the home screen as you can just tap whichever you want.

The browser is awesome too, as I'm able to check my blog stats, websites etc and it's fine :)

There is also a  navigation app which is really handy!! I've used this a couple of places including in London when we were struggling to find an alternate route to a cinema near Feltham haha!

I use Giff Gaff with my phone, and it's great as it allows you to have Unlimited Web data (although it is rather slow and some days it has black outs), which a lot of my apps do require internet access!

- The camera is amazing
- QWERTY Keyboard
- You can see previous messages (it shows it like a conversation rather than individual text messages)
- A huge range of apps you can download from the Google Play Store :)
- It runs on Android software, so a lot of the apps found on the App Store can be found on the Google Play Store
- It's small and cute, with so much to offer!
- You can multi task with it ; play music while browsing the internet!
- Mine came with a USB cord, so I can plug it into the computer to charge it up

- I have a 32GB memory card in my phone, and around 10GB of it is used, thus making my phone SLOW! And I've experienced my  phone crashing quite a bit :/ Which I really hate!
- Because it's touch screen, it sometimes might not respond to your tapping if your hands are super cold
- Not so great front camera quality
- The camera button is a bit too small so you can't press it down well without you hand spazzing a bit
- Despite it being small, it is rather bulky. If you like your slim Samsung Galaxy / iPhone-like slimness, then don't consider this phone

I hope you liked this review :) and I'm actually really wanting a new phone (and to review it too! haha)
I love playing with new phones and gadgets so it's something that really interests me

Rick Genest & Promise Phan inspired.

I've been thinking of different makeup ideas that I could do for Halloween - as I've never really dressed up as anything before. Well... last year I did a sort of vampire look but it wasn't that great.

And today I saw that the amazing Promise Phan uploaded this photo:

And I immediately got inspired and decided to try it today haha!!

However I thought that this looked a liiiittle bit simple. And I remembered Rick Genest from Lady Gaga's music video and decided to try and get more ideas for the shading and extra details.

I drew this photo of his aaaaaages ago (just putting it out there haha ;D)

As you can see, it's much more detailed with the lines around the mouth and shading!

This is what I came up with:

What I used:

Skin79 OrientalGold BB Cream - It's really light for me so I used it to cover my entire face - making it look really pale
MAC Concealer - on my blemishes. I didn't need to use that much though!
Setting powder
A Black eyeliner - I had used a pencil liner first, but I found that it started to collect the colour of the BB Cream and it just looked grey rather than black.
So I had used the Soap & Glory felt liner - which was SO much better! I could make precise lines and the colour is very very black so it saved a lot of time!
Black eyeshadow - I used this to contour around the sides of my face, around the teeth and other the eyeliner to set it!
AVON White eyeliner stick - Just to create more contrast by applying this white shade on the teeth, and on the white gaps of the face.

What do you think?

I would've done a step by step tutorial or something, but I was afraid I was going to mess it up haha! Nonetheless here are the pics :)

Would you ever try anything like this?

Garnier's BB Cream isn't the best.

Hey everyone :)

With all of this BB Cream hype in the world now, and many beauty brands are releasing their own BB Creams, I've tried out a few.
However, the only one that is really great is the L'Oreal REVITALIFT BB Cream, which I reviewed here.

The Garnier BB Cream, is one I had bought around the time it was released. And personally, that had put me off BB Creams to be honest.

As Garnier is a brand with really great skincare, I thought their BB Cream would live up to this standard too, however I was disappointed.

The size of the tube is great, as you do get a lot of product to use :) I bought this in the shade Medium.
After watching the adverts, I honestly thought this BB Cream would be as great as it was advertised.

Despite this being a Medium shade, I found that it was a little too dark, and had a bit of a reddish tone? Rather than a yellowish tone. So it made my existing scarring look a litte purple, which isn't a great look :S

I found the coverage being quite light, as most BB Creams are. However this can be buildable, and you can get the desired coverage you want. But with the colour being a different shade to my skin tone, I didn't want to risk my face looking a different colour.

I found that the cream itself was quite streaky, and even if you blended it, it would be more of a moisturiser than a BB Cream - as it is meant to be thicker than a tinted moisturiser but less heavy than a foundation!

It makes your face look quite oily, but this can be resolved by applying a setting powder on top.

The main problem with this BB Cream, is that is BROKE ME OUT! It made my skin break out like crazy. I don't know if it's because it's quite oily as it is, or there is something with the product.

I had tried this mulitple times, all on different months and I found that every time, I would get a little break out :(

So I'm not happy with this BB Cream, and it's just sat around in my makeup drawer haha!

Have you tried this BB Cream? If so, how did you find it?
