I don't really get the hype about the Olympics...

I'm sorry! Sorry for being unpatriotic knowing that the country I'm living in is hosting the 2012 Olympics.
But it's not that.
I'm just generally not a sports watching person, like I get bored watching F1 races or football matches. And I don't really understand the hype about the Olympics to begin with.

Yeah, if you like watching races then that's fine, and if you like sports in general then thats great. By all means watch it.

But I don't understand why people are only watching it because... well England is hosting it. Or the fact that everyone else seems to be watching it so they feel the need to watch it too. It's funny to know, now that the Olympics has actually started, the interest in Olympics will be high.. and then there will be lack of interest until the actual end of the Olympics.

I think I'd actually watch it if I knew someone that was in it; and I could watch their races because it'll be interesting.. otherwise I don't know how people can watch each and every single race.

Anyway I found this incredibly hilarious meme... hahah we're probably the only country where the Queen is a meme:

Hahahahaha!!

But anyway, I think people need to calm down a little bit with being patriotic; like it's cool you support Great Britain.. but it's getting a bit carried away when you're wearing like Union Jack tops and painting it on your nails or wearing the colours for your makeup... everyday. And tweeting about watching all of the Olympic races... everyday.

Oh, but, the Paralympics do look pretty badass though, and I'd watch that.. Just because they're pretty inspiring :)

Well, Olympics is only on for another week or two and thats it... so I'll be happy when people calm down with the Union Jack errrrwhere.
And to those saying, "Oh I'm so proud to be a part of history!"... Erm, unless you're actually participating in the Olympics, you're not really a part of it.
You're just a part of the audience
It's like me saying, "OMG I watched the Season Finale of Desperate Housewives, I'm a part of history!"
Not really, love.

Oh and.... I think it's a bit cruel to say: "People who don't like the Olympics need to be shot"... Yeah I read someone tweet that. If someone doesn't like something, doesn't really give you the right to declare death on them.
That shit is fucked up.

Garnier Self-Heating Sauna Mask Review

I came across this mask a few months ago when I was looking for a quick mask to help sort out my skin as it broke out really badly. And so, I had searched in Bodycare - which is so awesome for getting beauty products cheaper than who they are in Boots or Superdrug!
And so, I purchased this for £2, and this comes as 2 sachets, so it's a great weekly pick me up!

I was intrigued by this mask though, as it's a self heating sauna mask. Now, I'm familiar with self-heating products as I have Soap & Glory's No Clogs Allowed mask, and also Body Shop's Seaweed mask. And I saw that this had White Clay and Zinc - absolutely perfect for drawing out skin impurities and excess oils.

And so, I decided to try out this baby!

The ingredients...

Its like a pale blue mask, and once it is applied, you can feel instant heat on your face and on your finger tips too haha! The amount of product in these sachets is definitely a lot to cover the entire face, and you may be even left with extra product. But I apply more over my bad problem areas.

So I left this mask on for 15 minutes - and it doesnt become really hard or anything and you are still able to move your face haha!
When I washed off the mask, it felt really really warm on my finger tips haha! And it does take a lot of washing to remove this off your face.
My only problem with washing it off, is that it doesnt really balance out the skin - so whilst my oily skin was normal, my normal skin became a little bit dry..

So the mask claims that it leaves the skin shine-free, and remains clean and purified for 7 days. I wasn't able to agree with this though. Yeah, my skin did feel purified and refreshed - which is a great feeling as I hate when my skin feels greasy through the day.
But my skin didn't remain with this clean feeling for 7 days... more like 3 days. I don't know if it's because my skin is oily to begin with, but it didn't really help with controling the oil and shine.

I do like this mask however, as it's a great product to help my skin from all of the dirt and impurities; and it makes my skin feel really fresh :D

And I have purchased this mulitple times now haha as I do think it works really well! :)

30,000+ Views!

Daaaaaaayum guys, thanks for reading my blog and getting me to over 30,000 views!

And it's crazy though, I've only just got round to writing this post, and I'm nearly at 34k!?

How?!

I don't know... but thank you so much to everyone that has read my blog, shared it, and told others about it! It's pretty amazing though, I created this blog at the end of December 2011, and so many awesome things have come out of it!
It honestly does feel like yesterday when I was writing up a post about having a meal with my Journalism course mates... and why does this feel like a speech if I was to win an oscar? wtf.
But, this is still only the beginning! I love blogging and this is like my baby, so I'm going to look after it everyday, feed it with good content/photos, and watch it grow...
hahahahahahahah wtf.

Thank youuu again :D

It's too early to say, goodnight

I haven't really been posting much lately. And to be honest.. I'm going through a few things right now. Not necessarily bad things but, I have to make bigger decisions and choices right now.

I've been thinking about things I'd like to do this summer.. and I know I have a long way to go to get to where I'd like to be. So I've been using up a lottt of my time and energy into that.

I'm also working on a new project this summer... and hopefully I will complete it by the end of August because I'm soooo determined to get it done. However, despite it being one of my main goals in life, I think that it's something I have to think twice about.

So, that being said, I will still post on here obviously! But if my posts aren't really up to scratch.. then you know the reason why.
As for my project, I will be posting about it here first! :D

Anyway, on to this week:
I had a really AWESOME birthday; and a good welcoming in to the 20s!
So thank you for all of the birthday messages, texts, calls!! :D I'm so grateful for it all!!

Thank you Instagram peeps for the birthday messages :)

And, one thing I've really learnt these past couple of hard weeks:

Those who mind don't matter
And those who matter don't mind.”

Dark Tulip Hair Dye FAQ

Hello everyone!

I've been receiving tons of questions from people about my hair colour and thought it would be best to answer them all here, and hopefully this others will see this too and it will help them :)

The dye I used was: La Riche Directions "Dark Tulip"

So as you can see, in the sun my hair is absolutely bright.... like a hot pink/fuchsia colour. And this is only on my ends too...the rest of my hair doesnt go this bright whilst in the sun.

On to the questions:

- What did you use to bleach your hair?
These two products:

Both by L'Oreal. These two products must be used together to create bleach :) the blue tub contains the lightning powder... I used a spatula sized amount for the ends of my hair.. The white bottle is the creme which you mix with the powder. You just add enough of the liquid to make it a creamy hair dye-like consistency.

See.. it's like a pale blue powder.

These products you can buy from Sallys.
However if you're not comfortable with bleaching your own hair, then do go to a hairstyling professional or someone else with experience to do it for you :)

- Why did you use the bleach?
Because I wanted my hair ends to be much lighter than the rest of my hair... like a sort of ombre effect. But also the fact that my hair is naturally dark, I wanted to lighten it, and therefore the hair colour will show up more on lighter hair.

So unfair for us natural brunettes... haha!

- How long did you leave the bleach on for?
Ermmm I would say 30 to 35 minutes? My hair ends were already a bit light, so I didn't feel teh need to leave it on that long.
The sad point about bleaching is that it DOES damage your hair. You will feel that your hair is more dry than it was before, and you need like some sort of nourishing deep conditioning or something :S haha.
They usually hair that bleach stops working after abour 55 minutes, and if you leave it on longer than that, you're just ruining your hair!

I just wanted my hair to be light enough to pick up the colour :)

- How much were the La Riche Directions tubs?
Well I first spotted them on the main website, and I think each one came to around £7... I think. But I just purchased mine off eBay, from a UK based seller that sent it 1st class delivery. Haha! I prefer buying things online rather than going out to buy them.

- How much of the tub did I need to cover my whole head?
Honestly, I used around 3/5ths of the tub. So just over half of the tub. This hair dye really does go a long way!
I read a couple of reviews for this product before I'd bought it, and people with hair shorter than mine, were all like "Oh, you need around 2 tubs because I will really scraping every last bit of it to cover my entire hair".
Nah, bullshit.
It depends how you use it too. A small amount goes a long way, and you don't need a lot. :)

- How long did you leave the dye in for?
I left it on for 25 minutes... the tub says 15 but I wanted to be sure that my hair really picked up the colour :D Some people leave the colour on for much longer.. but I don't know. I think 25 - 35 minutes will be fine :)

- Did the tub hair dye dry out my hair?
Surprisingly, NO! :D
My hair looks super glossy and healthy and sleek. I was talking about this yesterday with my sister actually, I asked her if my hair looked dry at teh ends, especially as I'd bleached it too. And she was like nopee.
There is no bleach or ammonia in the La Riche Directions hair dye, so you don't have to worry about your hair being ruined or anything.

See, my hair looks perfectly healthy and revitalised with colour :D

- What is the condition of my hair at this moment?
Still healthy and soft and sleek and vibrant :D haha

- What does it look like after a few washes?
Ermm well I only dyed it on Sunday so I'm not sure :P I'm not the type to wash my hair every single day, so this colour might last me a month or two (I'm hoping!). I will do a follow up review with photos and stuff to show what my hair looks like after a week, then 2 weeks, then a month.
Other reviews have said darker colours like Dark Tulip, Violet, Plum, Rubine tend to last the longest on teh hair. So I'm yet to experience this! :D

- How did you do it all yourself?!
To be honest, I've done my own hair since I was around 14 or 15; and I've just had all of that experience. I've had bad hair looks as well as good; but it's all come down to practice and doing your research into the products.
You can get someone else to do it for you if you really want to; like a hair dresser, but I guess you'll just have to fork out the £££ or $$$ (depending where you're from :P)
To be honest, I wasn't really scared of how it would turn out... like if it turned out bad.. then it isn't really the end of the world right? You just have to wait a few days and re-dye it.
Personally, I can't have other people around me when I dye my hair, as it just puts me off haha. So do whats best for you, do it alone with music on, or did it with someone else guiding you? It's all good :)

Anyway, I hope this FAQ has answered your questions and helped you out a little! If you have anymore questions, leave a comment below :)

It's my 20th birthday already?!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!!!!

And to celebrate (blogging style) I decided to write up this post that includes tons of photos from when I was growing up, and basically random and interesting things from my life :)
& I think it's a good time to reflect back on the past 20 years of being Ravinder Osahn... Don't actually know why I wrote my name. Oh well haha..

0-3 years old:
Skipping this part, as I don't remember anything haha. Erm... I had a lot of stuffed animals (some that I still have :D) but I don't recall anything else.

Check out this photo of one of me and my friend Rakhee at our babysitters haha! I uploaded this the other day and she was like "Awwwwww!"

(I don't know how to rotate photos...) But this is my mum and me... I don't know when or where this was taken :$ haha!

Primary Schoool:
I don't really remember much of Primary school either.... but I do know that one of the friends I made when I first started school, I remained friends with her til we left for high school. It's pretty weird, I haven't heard from her since.
I was a bit of a goody two shoes, like I was really polite and got my work done and whatever. And I was really interested in animals, writing stories (haha all my teachers said I had a good imagination, just that I never talked in class). I was always a quiet person and I didn't really put my hand up even if I knew the answer. Oh well.
One of my favourite teachers was when I was in Year 4, and the teacher was this Indian woman (I think I now have some verrryyyy distant relation to her :S) but she was really lovely and she always told me I'm good at writing and poetry... so I guess that made me want to go further into my creative side.
Erm... sex education classes were really awkward. No futher comment about this.

High School:
Erm, High school was one of the shittest but best experiences I've had. Year 7, 8, 9 were the awkward years where I just wished I was someone else who was more 'cool' I suppose, like some people in my class. But those 'cool' people are now doing jack shit with their life. If I knew that was the outcome of their lives back then, then I obviously would've just concentrated on my own life and didn't listen to what they said.
Year 10 & 11 were awesome, as I was more comfortable with myself and I had really awesome friends :) and I guess those were the years were I knew more of what I wanted to do in life - Draw & Write :)

My Year 11 photo... Eeek! Haha look at my hair! :O

I remember I had dyed it so much during high school (and now) that I've forgotten how I look with my natural hair colour :P

I think this was from the Christmas during Year 11; me and my cousin's relative Jaypreet :)
As you can see, I was waaay more chubbier there than I am now haha! Jeez!

I think I took this during the summer before I started Year 12 :)

Also, during Year 8, we bought Nemo! :)

Sixth Form:
So sixth form was only two years, but a lot happened.
I was in my first sort of proper relationship for two years, it was cool but I guess back then, I didn't really know what was going to happen and truthfully I just wanted to focus on my own life and getting the most out of it.
During the first week of my second year, the worst thing had happened. One of my friends Diane, had died in a car accident, and it really shocked everyone. Because she was so clever, awesome and unique, a lot of people were affected in some way or another. For me, it resulted into a breakdown I had in an Art class. I just remember my teacher telling me that my work was "appauling" and to be honest, that was the last thing that I'd wanted to hear after knowing about my friend.

Me & Diane at Leeds Met higher education fair in Year 12 :)
But then I guess things slowly started to sink in, and I'd accepted that she had gone, and obviously improved all my Art work. So yeah.

It was Lily's birthday that dayyyy; Me & Ebun here :)

And again :)

So... My bitch of a sixth form head teacher messed up my University application, therefore resulting in me taking a gap year.

To do what?

A few things, I learned a few languages, did more art work, realised what I truly wanted to do. I think the year out of education, helped me to realise what I wanted to do... And, well, I changed :)

A lot of people say I look very different compared to how I was in High school... and looking back at these photos, I can say I agree myself!

So, I had ended up applying to study Journalism at Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds Trinity & All Saints, Lancashire Univeristy and Hudderefield University, which I had all unconditional offers for - yet I don't understand why they would pick me haha! I'm so thankful that they did!!! But... I chose Huddersfield University as... something aboout it seemed excitinggg :D
And I think the fact that I would be travelling and going on new experiences really excited me! I'm so glad I made the decision of accepting that offer :)

Huddersfield University:
I first went to Huddersfield University with my friend Lauren who, by a miracle, I found on The Student Rooms (yeah it's pretty risky all of that internet business) but we maanged to check out the University together - as I hadn't even been... ever! And obviously, the year had started and well... a lot of things have happened over the year! And also, my amazing boyfriend :) :)
I guess one of the main things that has struck me about my degree, is that I kinda need to make my own way up to the top in order to get a decent job. So, this is why I'm very very very strict about my blog, and that I feel the need to post everyday with something new and exciting :D haha!
To be honest, this year has been full of ups and downs which have made me realise what I really want and how much I am willing to work hard for it.

During end of March / early April

Anyway, I am very happy and thankful for the many experiences that I have had during the past 20 years :O wow! I feel so old haha! And I hope to continue having big experiences and a happy life :)

I hope you've enjoyed looking through this post :)
